The Canadian government authorized the recruitment of the Canadian Army Special Force (CASF) to provide military support for the Korean War. Thousands of volunteers subsequently enlisted, many of whom were veterans of World War II.

The Canadian government submitted its official response to the Standing Committee on International Trade's report regarding the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement negotiations. This was a step in the ongoing negotiation process toward the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement, which the two countries eventually signed in 2014 and brought into effect in 2015.

The Royal Canadian Navy destroyer HMCS Iroquois arrived in Japan to begin its third tour of duty in the Korean theater. The ship subsequently conducted patrols in Korean waters and carried out various naval operations for the UN forces, even after the armistice.

Representatives from the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) met with MOSAIC, a Canadian settlement support organization, to discuss cooperative measures to support the immigration and employment of Korean nationals in Canada. A major focus of the discussion was on ways to help Korean professionals and young adults find employment in Canada.
