Canada's Inflation Rate Reaches 3% in July Driven by Gas Prices

Canada's inflation rate climbed to 3.0% in July, a notable increase from the previous month, largely influenced by a resurgence in gas prices. This upward pressure on energy costs was attributed to renewed hostilities in the Middle East, which impacted global shipping routes and consequently drove up the price at the pump. Gas prices saw a yearly increase of 25.7% in July, a steeper rise compared to June's 20.5%.

Beyond fuel, the cost of travel services also contributed to the higher inflation figures.
